The HUSERMET Project
the human serum metabolome in health and disease...

HUSERMET Database

A dynamic, user-friendly Web front-end (GUI) will be provided, using an open source, server-side, HTML embedded scripting language (PHP). The GUI will consists of common functions such as browsing, searching and exporting the data and its associated meta-data collected throughout the duration of the HUSERMET project. "Web Service" will also be provided as part of the database system where external software can then use to query and retrieve data directly for further data analysis. Each function is described in more detail below:

  • Browsing
    • Study-based (disease-based) or overall project browsing
    • Data and its associated meta-data with relevant laboratory information (e.g. instrument setting, experiment design details, etc.)
  • Searching
    • Single query and canned query (i.e. multiple queries)
    • Cross-study querying on common fields, e.g. gender and age, etc
  • Exporting
    • Exporting queried result in either the CSV or XML format
